Shadow Lands: Palace of the Spirit King - Kiharu's Plight

Kiharu sighed. "That's stupid logic. Either way I'd have no choice." She bit her lip, however, not wanting the man to advance the wedding. She counted on her friends to save her time, but until then she decided to simply stall until they either come, or she put her plan into action.

"Can I at least explore a little? I need some fresh air once and a while." This much was true; her lungs were still rather fragile and being in that stuffy room would undoubtedly cause her to feel suffocated in due time.

"You will be aloud to leave your room for one our a day, you will be let out into the gardens and you will be watched by either myself or one of the guards. Guards will patrol the inner and outer perimeters of the gates and the dogs will be crawling around throughout the castle...any attempt at escape is...impossible" he said quietly staring out the window again, he turned bak to Kiharu "So...tell me about yourself"

Kiharu shrugged. "I can live with that." She finished her soup, mind lingering on his last sentence. "Tell about myself? What's there to tell?"

She was making this night difficult, and she reveled in it.

"Tell me about your past...your life, your family...your dreams, goals, ambitions" he said "Where do you see yourself in a few years...other than married to me."

'Right,' Kiharu thought. 'Because it's never going to happen.'

"Well, I was born premature," she began, rolling her eyes at what she was doing. "My parents didn't think I would survive and I'm actually kind of surprised I did. That weakness stayed with me until I turned around ten, and by then it was clear I was becoming more independent.

"I refused to be homeschooled. I wanted to see the world and learn with my own eyes. Mingle with others my age, and learn amongst peers. Therefore I started school publicy when I was thirteen.

"In the future I see myself as a loyal advisor to Kaji, the Fire Lord and his personal right-hand. I see you defeated and rebuked."

Kagutsuchi gave a small laugh "You have spirit...I admire that...but you're wrong" he said, he turned around his eyes glowing again "You seem to think I'm evil...however, I am simply sharing my pain with the world...making them experience what I did...I'm getting my revenge." Kagutsuchi walked over to a large dark stone wall, it was hidden in a shadow and sat behind the Kagutsuchi's stone chair. Kagutsuchi placed his hand on the wall, as he ran his hand across it, light from the window shone on the wall revealing a tapestry. Large and grand, on it was two people, one who looked exactly like Kagutsuchi, only in red armour. The other wore a red silk dress, she had her arms wrapped around the man and she was leaning against him lovingly, the two seemed deeply in love. Kagutschi clenched his fists

"They...were my parents...Sasuno'o and Tsukaia...your Aunt and Uncle...." he told her "I never met them...because MY aunt and uncle killed them...Tsukiyomi..who I've allready dealt with...and Amaterasu." Kagutschi turned around towards Kiharu walking towards her "I never met my parents...my father's advisor and my 'older sister' Senka..." Kagutsuchi looked Kiharu in the eyes, casting an illusion on her, something his father was famous for. The scenery changed, they were in the throne room, Tsukiyomi and Amaterasu had just walked from the door, and Sasuno'o and Tsukaia lay in a pool of blood holding hands, tears in Sasuno'o's eyes.

Kagutsuchi blurred the image, changing it to make Haru and Kiari, laying there, grizzled, drenched in their own blood, Kagutsuchi could see Kiharu's fear, he ended the vision and looked at her "Imagine the look on my face..when I came back years later...entering my palace...going to my throne room...and looking down at the half rotted and half skeletal remains of my parents, their blood and intestines still caked to the ground...imagine the pain I felt...the hate I felt..."

Kiharu felt that she could vomit. This ... this was the famed Tsukaia and Sasuno'o's son? She didn't know her cousin had any kids. And ... that vision. Just the sight of that possibility made Kiharu's heart constrict. She felt that she couldn't breathe. That Horror just manifested itself in front of her.

She was weak by the end of it all, slumped slightly in her chair, eyes hazed. "Okay ... " she began lamely, still struggling to absorb all the information. "Your father was an evil man," she told him boldy. "And so was my cousin. I guess no kid deserves to see their parents dead, but do you honestly think enacting 'revenge' on the world will truly solve anything?"

"No it's not supposed to make me feel better...however" he said "My fathers goal was similar...and I owe my father and mother that much....to continue their work..."

Kiharu frowned, a critical expression falling onto her face. "Finish what they started? Do you have any idea what they did to people? Your dad almost killed mine, and killed your grandmother. He was a psychopath. He was crazy. And in the end, what happened to him?

"Kagutsuchi, you'll have a better future if you don't follow in your father's footsteps. Don't be a tool for them."

Kagutsuchi laughed "You don't understand...well" he said "i hope you enjoyed your dinner....Senka! Take her back to her room...make sure she doesn't escape during the night...i'm going to my study..."
