3rd Tenkaichi Bending-kai | Heavyweight Division | Semi-Final Round | Match 9 – [#2] Izanami vs. [#14] Avatar Ziio

“Hello folks, and welcome to the first annual Tenkaichi Bending-Kai Heavyweight Semi-Final Round!  We are about to begin our first match!” The announcer said into his microphone, the noise blasting over the roaring crowd. The battle would take place in a long, rectangular Imperial Arena.  Sand covered the floor, and though rectangular, it had rounded edges.  Stands stretched around the outside, and backed into the stands where the private boxes were was the Imperial Palace and the Emperor's Box, as well as mansions and palaces belonging to important nobles who also had their own private boxes attached to their homes.  

The entire place was of made of sandstone and marble and was fabulously decorated. A massive golden brazier stood above the Emperor's Box, being supported by two Tengu.  It was on fire, and the fire was said to never go out.  It was white fire too.  In the arena there were several pools of water around the edges. Many tricks and traps were riddled everywhere through this arena, to be activated by Mr. Showbiz's will. Also, because Mr. Showbiz was an asshole, the entire battle took place at night. Showbiz enjoyed tricks like that.

“Today, we'll be witnessing the fierce battle between Izanami Ezofuji-no-Tsukuyomi and Avatar Ziio. The gates will open on my mark. With the combatants set, and the battlefield ready for them, let's give them a warm welcome!  Now before we begin, let's remind our fighters that they'll each have 500 HP and will roll a random number of 50 instead of 20 for the Heavyweight Matches.  Attack Accuracy and Defence stay the same, at 10.  Izanami will have the honour of the first strike!  Now without further ado...”

Izanami's opponent was the Avatar. Fun, just lots of fun. Izanami normally wasn't one to shy away from a challenge, but even this kind of scared her. Ziio hadn't lost a fight yet, and if she beat Izanami...well to be FAIR izanami would've understood. She expected to lose anyway, but at least she wasn't going down without a fight.

Using an old favourite of hers, Izanami shot a bolt of black lightning right at Ziio. She was starting off advanced. No pussy-footing around. It was victory or death for Izanami at this point. There was no in between.

The Ash Maker Princess came at Ziio with all the ferocity of a wild beast.  She aimed a bolt of black lightning right at Ziio's chest, but Ziio simply smirked and blocked the lightning with a wall of thick ice.  Using her bending, Ziio melted the shattered chunks of ice after the lightning blew the wall apart, then turned them into a single wave of water. Ziio played with the torrent for a bit.  She made it do al sorts of tricks and take on the shape of different animals.  

Ziio's bending had always been stronger than most, especially those older, but she never knew why.  Either way, Ziio enjoyed it. She flaunted her skills, then, right as the Ash Maker Princess was distracted, aimed the water torrent at the Ash Maker Princess, this time aiming for her head. As the torrent neared the Ash Maker Princess, Ziio separated and froze it into several ice shards. Ziio didn't pull punches and didn't hold back.  Besides, the Ash Maker Princess looked like she could take it.

Izanami ducked. None of the ice shards hit her in the head. The ones that shattered against the wall behind her however were a different story. Ice shards, long and sharp pierced Izanami in the back and she cried out in pain as blood pool across her spine. She gritted her teeth, using her Fire Bending to melt the ice down into warm water and then steam, heating up her body to dry off. The heat dried the blood, temporarily closing up the painful wounds. But she winced every time she moved; pain still coursing through her.

Izanami looked at Ziio with determination. Fire Bending was not going to stop a Water Bender. Lightning was the only way to go. That was the natural progression of the elements after a. Water douses Fire, Fire consumes Air, Air blows away Earth, Earth soaks up Water. Everyone who was a bender knew this. They also knew that Lightning beat Water. Gathering more black lightning, Izanami shot another load at Ziio's chest.
