Kiara saw the palm coming and attempted to dodge, not realizing that there was ice hidden in the girl's sleeve. She gasped as it sliced across her back. Images flashed through her mind, pain caused by the abuse of her father, the scars on her back, the constant beatings every time she messed something up. She was filled with rage at the memory. Her senses heightened, and she leaped out of the way of the wall of rock. She turned to the woman who had thrown it.

She wasn't too far away, and Kiara could reach her shadow just fine. She lifted her right hand, and immediately, hundreds of spheres flew out of the woman's shadow. They were small, but as hard as steel, and the velocity they were flying at could hurt. A lot.
