Tavern Fight [open]

Tamura had never experienced any long-term, deep or particularly significant relationships. Most people she knew she forgot as soon as she left them, and she always left them. Eventually. She wasn't blind however, despite only having one functional eye. She could see the two kids had a strong spark between them, and she had no desire, reason or right to bother them with her presence. And so she let them gallivant off on their own. In any case she'd already paid for one night in the inn and she had full intentions to get her night on a bed and under a roof. That and she was worried about the cook boy. She'd have to go check in on him later.

Re-lighting her pipe she walked off in the opposite direction to the young lovestruck duo, stepping into an alley and sitting down on a wooden crate. She'd have to wait for the guards to come over, arrest whoever they felt like arresting in the inn and then she'd fine. Von stuck his head out of the box she kept the Boys in, looking around sleepily. It was a habit of his to fall asleep in there.

"Hey there little guy," she called out gently, patting the top of the rodent's head. "Go back to sleep, we've got a few minutes to kill," he looked at her for a second before letting himself slide back into the box. Over time she'd come to believe he really did understand human speech, he never seemed to misinterpret what she told him, even if sometimes he elected to ignore her words.

The time alone gave her time to think, and she came to eventually realise something. She had no legacy. No children, no nephews, she barely even had a family. Her parents were alive, her father at least was still kicking, but they'd die before she would and then what? She was on the wrong side of forty, and she had nothing real and meaningful to show for her life. Maybe it was time to look for meaning. Take on a student? Maybe...

"Don't cry Yami... "he gave himself a face palm, "i meant i'll be with you forever, and never leave you again, that is unless you want me too" he said teasing her a bit. he had his forehead pressed on her's and held her from the waist, he then leaned over and kissed her lips.

Yami was shocked at what he had just done, but then kissed him back. When she broke away a few seconds later, she said. "Thank you so much. I love you." with tears streaming down her face. but, you know that we have to part ways. I have so many places to go and see, and you prefer to stay in the light states. I'm sorry, but tomorrow we will have to say goodbye.

NARRATOR: The next morning, the three of them parted ways, this time properly, Yami agreeing to visit Drago whenever she could, and asking Tamura if she could be her pupil. Yami knew that she had skills in many areas, and that was where Yami needed strength. So she and Tamura went one way Drago another.
