"pff...I'd set that boy on fire."Motie crossed her arms.She was telling the truth.She did not like people like that.Even though she did think she was the best lightning bender ever.But she still didn't like people steal her spot light.She flipped her long gorgous braid back.



"You should of challenge him to a battle.And then air bended his butt into shame!Hi yah!"Motie said sending lightning through the sky.

Eri couldn't help but laugh at Motie, shaking her head.

"Well, it doesn't help that last week I had a mild fit and disobeyed orders. And I did it again this week." Eri rubbed her face with her hands. She knew she should be thankful for the training she was given. And she was. She just wanted a small break sometimes. And, she did put her uncle's shop back together and made it look even nicer than before.

Eri was very shy and quiet, but when she got mad she got mad. She had her dad's temper.

"So I'm kind of... grounded right now." Eri gazed up at the branches again, rolling her blue eyes.

Motie smiled.She climbed the tree then jumped from one branch to another.Her anklebracelet with the waternation symbol on fell off.She went into shock.That was her mother's!It was so valueable to her.Especially sinc eher mother isn't around at the time.Still living in the souther tribe with her half siblings and step fathers,Motie couldn't help but scream out for it.It was delicate.Made of soft string and shell beads.


"NO!!My anklebracelet."She yelled out for it as she chased it.

Seeing something glimmer through the air, followed by Motie's cry, Eri waved a hand and sent a current of air to catch the piece of jewelry in mid-fall. Gently, she brought the current towards her and then eased it to part, catching the ankle bracelet in her hand.

"It's okay, I caught it," she said, holding it out carefully to Motie. "It's very pretty." She smiled warmly to the girl, hoping to calm her worries.

"It's special to you, isn't it?" Eri saw the water nation symbol, but didn't feel it was her place to ask. Not unless she got to know this girl a bit better. Maybe someone close to Motie had given it to her.

Motie sighed.It was very important."Yes,this may seem weird but I lived in the southern nation until I was five.My mom was a great waterbender and this is all I have to remember her,she'll never come down here because she has two other kids besides me."Motie took it slowly from Eri thanking her and then she wrapped it back around her leg.She soon remembered something and laughed.

"My parents met in one of the air temples."She told Eri.It was true,they met there.Her dad lied and said he wasn't a firebender at all.He lied to her mother and told her he was from the southern tribe.


"I kind of miss the southern tribe."She told Eri.

Eri listened to Motie contently, nodding here and there. She smiled at the other girl at her last comment.

"Yeah?" she asked. "Why don't you go there sometime?" Eri wanted to leave the Southern Air Temple one day just to get a look at the rest of the world, at least.

"I'm an only child," she muttered, shaking her head. That meant all the attention was always on Eri, no matter how old or young she was. If she got in trouble, she didn't have another sibling to take some of the attention away from her. Heck, she had never had anything to take any of the attention away from her. Thankfully now that she lived with her aunt and uncle, they weren't too bad and gave her her space.

Motie shook her head.It's not that she didn't want to but her dad.He was just so overly protective,probably requesting guards,which is stupid because they were related to the royal family not apart of them.But still he feels the need to send her away with guards/She was such a good lightning bender.Who is willing to approach this merciless little girl?Yeah she was a twelve but a solid one.She was probably the bravest young girl ever.But her dad never see her like that.He sees her like the little girl who was the only fire bender in the southern tribe for awhile until he came along and took her away.Fro then on he didn't want to let her go.


"My father won't allow it."She told Eri.

"What about when you're an adult?" Eri asked, flicking one brow up with her question. "Then you can do whatever you want." Eri was technically of age, but she was still in training. Once out of training, well, then she'd have the chance to have her own adventures.

A thought struck her. Would she ever see this young girl again? She hoped so - she liked her.

"Hey," she said softly, giving Motie a gentle smile. "Promise you'll write me, 'kay?" Eri knew that the queen would be leaving soon and she was surprised she hadn't heard her calling Eri's name sooner.

Motie smiled back.She was the first airbender she met.And the nicest.Motie nodded."I will write you,promise me you'll visit at least once a year?"She hoped she'd say yes.Writing to her is okay but seeing her in person is even better.Motie looked up.Nala was flying around.As usual she circled the palace when they were there.Motie called out to her.,


"Nala!"She said.Nalla's first movement was down.She snaked her way down there and seemed to look Motie in the eye

Eri's smile widened slightly.

"Promise," she replied with a nod of her head. She then followed Motie's gaze and saw a creature nearing them at her call. Eri raised her eye brows.

"What is that?" she asked, squinting.
