3rd Tenkaichi Bending-kai | Lightweight Division | First Round | Match 1 – [#7] Izanagi vs. [#13] Kamui

“Hello folks, and welcome to the first annual Tenkaichi Bending-Kai Lightweight First Round!  We are about to begin our first match!” The announcer said into his microphone, the noise blasting over the roaring crowd. The battle would take place in a circular Ba Sing Se arena, which had pools of water around the edges. Tricks and traps were riddled everywhere through this arena, to be activated by Mr. Showbiz's will.

“Today, we'll be witnessing the fierce battle between Izanagi Ezofuji-no-Tsukuyomi and Kamui Leiheng. The gates will open on my mark. With the combatants set, and the battlefield ready for them, let's give them a warm welcome!  Now before we begin, let's remind our fighters that they'll each have 100 HP and will roll a random number of 30 instead of 20 for the Lightweight Matches.  Attack and Defence stay the same, at 10.  Izanagi will have the honour of the first strike!  Now, without further ado...”

Izanagi entered the arena, and was pleasantly surprised to see his cousin, Kamui. Izanagi couldn't help but smile; he had just come from a battle against his other cousin, Mai, and now he was battling another. It had been quite a long time since he and Kamui had last spoken, or even seen each other, and though Izanagi knew this match was not a social call, it was nice to see her after so long. Between Izanagi slowly taking over the duties of running the Empire and Kamui travelling the world to collect weapons and become a better swordsman, there was precious little time to see one another. The distance between the Empire and the North Pole did not help either.

Izanagi then knew that Kamui was a fire bender just like him, and that she, like her cousin Konoe, wielded the black flames of Amaterasu's lineage. Izanagi had to start getting some distance between and his cousin, because it was too soon for close combat fire bending. Izanagi kept Kamui at bay with a breath of majestic white flame that was aimed right at her. Even if it didn't hit, it would put some distance between the two opponents, and that would prove more useful than anything.

Kamui stepped into the ring and looked around.  She saw her opponent, her cousin Izanagi and she laughed.  Ironic.  Part of Kamui had hoped it would be her brother, Ieyasu, but she knew Showbiz would never allow it. So her cousin, the future Emperor.  Kamui's smile faded and she prepared an attack, but she didn't get there in time.  Izanagi sent a blast of fire towards her from her mouth. Kamui felt the blast hit the side of her arm and burn through some of her robes.

Kamui looked at Izanagi with a frown.  At least it wasn't a water whip though; Kamui had had enough of those for one lifetime. She was fighting a fellow Fire Bender this time. Someone of the same bloodline with rare coloured flames just like her.  But now was not the time for that. She knew what she was going to retaliate with.  Screw the basics.  Kamui gathered lightning, and shot a whole bunch of it, aiming right for the middle of Kimi's chest.

Izanagi felt the lightning strike his chest. It burnt, and the smell of singed and burning flesh. Izanagi hissed in pain, and felt a big of rage sting through him. He wasn't really mad, but the pain caused an anger reaction to course through his body. Izanagi took a moment to calm himself. Fighting angry would not help him. He needed to remain calm, and the rage was not Kamui's fault. She was just fighting to win, just like everyone else was.

Once Izanagi had calmed down, he looked at Kamui and ran in close. The two engaged in fire bending CQC, black flames clashing with white flames. They went back and forth several times until Izanagi managed to break Kamui's defence. Then, covering his fist in flame, aimed a white flaming ball of a fist at her gut.

Kamui felt the flaming fist connect with her stomach. It burned white hot, literally. Kamui smirked inside at her pun, but grimaced on the outside from the pain. She rolled around in the sand for a bit, putting out the flaming hole in her clothes and stemming the pain from the burn on her stomach. Lying there, Kamui hissed in pain and composed herself. Once she had regained her composure, she rolled onto her back and opened her mouth.

Using all of the chi in her gut, she blasted a wave of black flames--well more like vomited--right at her opponent. She aimed for Izanagi's face, and hoped the flames would strike him like his fist struck her gut.

Izanagi saw Kamui prepare a flaming breath attack.  With a frown Izanagi dashed to the side.  The torrent of fame continued towards him, and Izanagi was forced to swat his hand to the side, sending the wave of black flame to avert its path away from him.  This rightfully disappointed Kamui, but Izanagi was not allowing her a chance to get a second close shot in.

Running in a bit to get closer to Kamui, Izanagi slammed his knee down into her gut.  With Kamui pinned to the ground, Izanagi drew back his fist, holding a single pillar of white flame like it were a flaming white knife, and aimed to slam it down into Kamui's shoulder.  He felt bad doing this to his cousin; one of his favourites too, but Izanagi wanted the win, and Kamui understood that.  She would've, and probably would, do the same.
