3rd Tenkaichi Bending-kai | Heavyweight Division | First Round | Match 1 – [#23] Mai vs. [#11] Kimiko

“Hello folks, and welcome to the first annual Tenkaichi Bending-Kai Heavyweight First Round!  We are about to begin our first match!” The announcer said into his microphone, the noise blasting over the roaring crowd. The battle would take place in a long, rectangular Imperial Arena.  Sand covered the floor, and though rectangular, it had rounded edges.  Stands stretched around the outside, and backed into the stands where the private boxes were was the Imperial Palace and the Emperor's Box, as well as mansions and palaces belonging to important nobles who also had their own private boxes attached to their homes.  

The entire place was of made of sandstone and marble and was fabulously decorated. A massive golden brazier stood above the Emperor's Box, being supported by two Tengu.  It was on fire, and the fire was said to never go out.  It was white fire too.  In the arena there were several pools of water around the edges. Many tricks and traps were riddled everywhere through this arena, to be activated by Mr. Showbiz's will.

“Today, we'll be witnessing the fierce battle between Kimiko Hashiko and Mai Ezofuji-no-Susano'o. The gates will open on my mark. With the combatants set, and the battlefield ready for them, let's give them a warm welcome!  Now before we begin, let's remind our fighters that they'll each have 500 HP and will roll a random number of 50 instead of 20 for the Heavyweight Matches.  Attack Accuracy and Defence stay the same, at 10.  Mai will have the honour of the first strike!  Now without further ado...”

Mai was happy and angry at the same time.  Her sister was here, hearing that Mai had entered the tournament, and would no doubt get Mai to try and return to a dead order.  Then there was Raijin; he was what made her happy.  They were in love...at least that's what he said.  She doubted she was his only girl, but she was the only one that mattered, and for now, that was all that mattered to Mai.  Hopefully they could meet at some point this tournament...that would be really nice.

Mai snapped back to reality, and looked at her opponent.  A young girl; younger than herself anyway. Water Bender definitely, she could tell by the clothes, the stance, the look. Her dark skin, dark hair, blue eyes. Well, this would be fun then. Using her Dark Bending, Mai formed two swords in each hand. She charged at Kimiko, twisting and turning, and swung the dark matter blades at her opponent hoping to hit anything that was unfortunate enough to get in the way.

Kimi couldn't think as she entered the arena. She had won. For once, she had won. Time to keep this winning streak going.... She thought as the Lay-on was called. Instantly she moved into action, sliding on the ground past Mai's blades and raising a wall of water behind her. As soon as it was high enough to crash down, Kimi released the water and sent it barreling down on Mai.

The water hit Mai like a wave and pinned her to the ground, soaking her through thoroughly. Waiting a moment to regain her breath and let most of the water drip off her, Mai slicked her hair back and stood back up. This little girl with her splashing wasn't going to stop Mai. Mai picked up her blades from the ground and lunged back towards Kimiko, this time getting closer. Mai aimed a slash at Kimiko's hip, one at her arm, and one at her thigh. One of them was bound to hit.
