3rd Tenkaichi Bending-kai | Preliminary Round | Match 2 – [#11] Kimiko vs. [#13] Kamui

“Hello folks, and welcome to the second annual Tenkaichi Bending-Kai Tournament's First Preliminary Match!” The announcer said into his microphone, the noise blasting over the roaring crowd. The battle would take place in a circular Ba Sing Se arena, which had pools of water around the edges, as well as a pit of magma in the middle, surrounded by a pool of water. While there would normally be more tricks and traps set up, they were disabled for the preliminaries.

“Today, we'll be witnessing the fierce battle between Kimiko Hashiko and Kamui Leiheng. The gates will open on my mark. With the combatants set, and the battlefield ready for them, let's give them a warm welcome!”

First seed match, Bailey vs. Niya. Bailey will have the honour of the first strike.

Kimi walked out of the darkened door to the arena. She had been here before, the memories flashed to her mind as she walked to the center to meet her opponent. She reached down and unlatched the lid of her water bag as she walked, her hands moving gingerly but with rhythm to her steps. Kamui was a new opponent to her, and as she was always taught, Kimi bowed as they came to the center.

Kimi mistook the Lay-on to begin and stumbled forward before moving to send a whip out toward Kamui, something ending up being more of a slap than a whip, but it did the trick.

Kamui stepped into the ring and looked around.  She saw the girl, Kimiko and she laughed. Ironic. Her brother Ieyasu had kicked Kimiko's *ss two years ago during this tournament, and afterwards he decided to train her to make her stronger. "How are you?" smiled Kamui, "Weird huh?" Kimiko nodded, and Kamui understood that meant to get serious. Kamui's smile faded and she prepared an attack. A water whip hit her in the head and made her vision blur and her eyes water.

Kamui looked at Kimiko with a frown. She hated Water Benders. Her whole bloody life they'd been hitting her with the d*mn Water Whip. Kamui had had enough. She knew what she was going to retaliate with. Screw the basics. Kamui gathered lightning, and shot a whole bunch of it, aiming right for the middle of Kimi's chest.

Kimi watched as the lightening streamed toward her. Without a second thought, she pulled a circle of water around the lightening, dissipating it and sending it into the ground at their feet. She smiled as she began to recognize the young lady standing in front of her. "Here to protect your brother's honor, thats so cute!" She called out before forming an array of water bullets aimed directly into the girls chest.

Luckily Kamui was able to dodge most of the bullets, but one made its way into her upper arm. That was kind of a pain in the *ss, but nothing she could deal with later Kamui was happy to see how far Kimiko had come since studying with her brother. In the first tourney two years ago she was so unsure of herself and nervous. Now Kimiko was confident, and she was a strong bender in her own right. Not yet a master, but on the way to it for sure.

Now was not to the time to be happy and reminisce though. Now was the time to fight and Kamui needed to remember that. With a quick plan in mind, Kamui charged Kimiko and entered a bit of fiery hand-to-hand combat. Her liiiiiiiiiiiiiimbs were aliiiiiiiiiiiiive, with the flames of buuuuuuurning! Black flames of burning to be specific. Kamui aimed one flaming fist right at Kimiko's chest.

Kimi smiled as she tumbled out of the way, cartwheeling past Kamui's left shoulder and twisting back to face her as Kamui moved passed her. Sliding back to gain her footing, Kimi raised down with both of her palms facing down to the water behind her. As she rose her arms, a wall of water rose around her until it stood level with the height of the arena. Releasing her breath, Kimi let it fall back down in front of her, slamming it towards Kamui's current position.
