3rd Tenkaichi Bending-kai | Preliminary Round | Match 7 – [#8] Kai’liané vs. [#24] Ru-Zheng

“Hello folks, and welcome to the second annual Tenkaichi Bending-Kai Tournament's First Preliminary Match!” The announcer said into his microphone, the noise blasting over the roaring crowd. The battle would take place in a circular Ba Sing Se arena, which had pools of water around the edges, as well as a pit of magma in the middle, surrounded by a pool of water. While there would normally be more tricks and traps set up, they were disabled for the preliminaries.

“Today, we'll be witnessing the fierce battle between Kai'liané Murumasa and Ru-Zheng. The gates will open on my mark. With the combatants set, and the battlefield ready for them, let's give them a warm welcome!”

First seed match, Sara vs. Dances With Derp. Sara will have the honour of the first strike.

((OOC: I've been given permission by Kouzai to have a summon contract. I'll be summoning Ravens. I've also been allowed to use a single NPC human as a puppet. Mind benders really can't do much else.))

Kai'liané stood just outside of the gate as it creaked open. A frown on her face. She didn't think this tournament would draw this much attention. She was a wanted murder after all; though at the same time, no one knew it was her committing the murders. In fact, all they had to go on was a "particularly skilled Mind Bender." No one knew her name, identity, or anything of the sort. To that, she had the advantage. Anyway, now was not the time to think about that, now was the time to attack.

With the snap of her fingers, a Fire Bender came out behind her, stepping onto the arena, shocking everyone. She smirked wickedly, and commanded he attack her opponent, using his flaming fists and fire bending skills to attack the man. He aimed for his head, his stomach, he arms, legs. Anything she could hit and damage or burn, Kai'liané was happy. "Try that on for size, kid," smirked Kai'liané, time to have some fun with this thing.

Ru was not prepared for the immediate attack. He's been in tournaments before and never in those tourneys has he been greeted with an attack like this. His opponent was a mindbender clearly, a powerful one at that. She had amazing skill over the firebender. The guy came at Ru with flaming fists that were impossible to dodge. He got several good hits in on Ru stomach before Ru had the strength to push him off and get away.

Ru knew that attacking the puppet-master would halt the puppet. He gathered a large ball of fire in his hands and sent it packing towards the ominous girl.

Kai'liané sighed and jumped in the air, twirling beautifully over the balls of fire. Typical fire bender counterattack. Always with the fire balls. Kai'liané faked a yawn to try and show her opponent he was boring her; which was true, he was. With a wicked smile, Kai'liané thought up some new orders for her puppet, and sent them into his mind. She folded her arms, put her wait on one hip and cocked her head to the side as she commanded her puppet from within his mind.

There was a small jerk, he let spit fly as the commands slightly overloaded his brain. Kai'liané toned it down just a bit, so as not to fry his mind. She needed him a bit longer; just until the Ravens were ready. She controlled them with her mind too; that's how she got the contract in the first place. Life was more fun when you could manipulate it to work in your favour. The Puppet Fire Bender charged at Ru again, this time aiming a flaming kick for his knee, hoping to do some damage to it, and slow down Kai'liané's opponent.

Ru was able to stop the attack that could've crippled him. It did, however, hurt his hands which he used to stop the oncoming attack. This puppet-master was devious, gruesome, and smart. Mix those three traits together and out comes an evil mastermind. Give that mastermind the ability to control others and that's a recipe for chaotic disaster.

Determination flooded Ru. It was not like him to just miss and leave himself open for such petty attacks. He needed to think quick. He has several options. One, close-combat fighting and slash or fist fighting. Two, more fireballs. Or three, lightning. Ru went with lightning. Although he rarely used and was highly inaccurate, he was sure to do damage to the evil puppet-master.

Kai'liané felt the lightning strike her shoulder. It burned, she let out a small yelp, and gritted her teeth. Anger filled her, and she growled a bit. She needed to keep her anger in though. If she let her rage take over it would throw off her game during the fight. Kai'liané decided to return the favour to Ru. He may have shot her up with lightning, but he had let himself get between Kai'liané and her Puppet. With a wicked grin, Kai'liané snapped her fingers and her puppet jumped up behind Ru and aimed lightning right in the middle of his back.

Meanwhile, Kai'liané threw a barrage of knives that fanned out across the stadium. One aimed for the middle of Ru's chest, the others mixed between his left and right, hoping to strike at him if he dodged. Kai'liané was going to kill this f*cker if it was the last thing she did. She was going to make him one of her puppets.
