| Trace sat back as her soup arrived and started to sip on it when she heard Ren ask about her being an earthbender. She practically choked on her soup before looking back at Ren. "I.. um.. Don't know what your talking about?" She said, hoping it wasn't too noticeable. Ren was right, there weren't very many earthbenders in the empire, unless they were working for the empire. But how did she know? Trace wondered as she glanced around quickly. Unless she is an earthbender too? I can't be sure. She tried to casually sip her soup, but ended up spilling just a bit of it onto herside of the table. Looking down at the spoon, she noticed she had started to shake and set it down to get a quick drink. Calm down, there's nothing wrong with being a bender. Nothing at all. | |

| ren smiled. everything that just happened confirmed she was right. ''its the way you walk and hold yourself. its always a dead give away as to fighting style.'' this girl was interesting and ren believed that there was a very interesting future for her. | |

| Trace looked down and ate some more of her soup, gathering her thoughts before looking back up. "I try not to do much with it. My brothers, well. I'm the only one in the family who can bend and it frustrates them. I don't think the Empire knows that I'm a bender. They have bought a couple of our swords and other metal work, but they don't seem to think that a earthbender molded them." She explained as she looked around. "I shouldn't be saying anything, since your a General, but it's not like you didn't know." | |

| Trace looked back up at Ren as Ren placed her hand over hers. You don't know her. Can you really trust her? Her brother's words came drifting back to her and she realized he wasn't just talking about safety, but her secret as well. "What do you need?" She asked as she sipped on her tea. I may not be able to keep my secret kept away from the other workers for much longer anyway. They're already starting to be suspicious of how easily I can make things. And who knows, maybe she doesn't want anything bad of me? She thought as she waited. | |

| ''I will need arrows.'' she replied. ''I have seen the work you and your co-workers do. I like it.'' she smiled at Trace reassuringly. | |

| Trace sighed as she relaxed a bit. Arrows, I could do arrows. She thought as she looked back at the General. "I would be honored to make your arrows. Although I wouldn't trust anyone else but my brother or myself to do them." She replied as she picked up the spoon from the table and started to spin it. "I've had a great ability to make arrows easily." As she spoke, the spoon spun and bended, forging itself into a small arrow like object before sp9inning back into the spoon. | |

| Yami stopped in a dark alley, breathing heavily. Another close call. I really need to stop doing that, she thought as she pulled her hood over her head. In a nearby forest around the city, she had accidentally angered a spirit, likely due to the bijuu inside of her. The spirit had chased her down until the edge of the forest, and Yami realized it was because of the population. Many spirits don't want to go into hugely populated areas, especially alone. Spirits can handle the invasion of one human, but a whole city full of them can be dangerous. For that Yami was grateful. She didn't need anything else to be hunting her down to the ends of the country.
When she had finally caught her breath, she smelled something. Food, and good food by the smell of it. She realized that the alley she was in was right next to a restaurant. She breathed in the smell more deeply. Chili. It was definitely chili. Yet something else caught her attention as well, the smell of alcohol. Normally, she wouldn't be able to smell something so faint from so far away, but the beast inside her seemed to enhance her sense of smell, just for this one brief moment. She recoiled, realizing that at least one person in that restaurant was drunk, and heavily at that. She finally stood and walked out of the alley, pulling her hood back off. She didn't want to look suspicious or anything. That may be worse than standing out at times.
Yami walked into the restaurant casually and sat down at the table. She looked around, noticing a pattern in the waiters' actions. Many of them seemed to spite the men, but focused more on the women. Great. A place that hired a bunch of perverts. Yay, she thought as she pulled out one of her knives. She played with it in her hands a little. Her goal was to intimidate her waiter, whenever he got there, just enough that he didn't give her any special treatment. She began to add a little fire to her knife, spiraling the flames around it quickly. Soon, a waiter came to her table. Yami grabbed the knife firmly and threw it into the table, where it stuck, the handle upright. The man stepped back a little before saying, "Uh, what can I get for you, miss?" Yami looked around, then said "Just chili and some water." Yami said, throwing in a creepy grin at the end. The man nearly tripped as he rushed back to the kitchen, to which Yami could only laugh.
She stopped laughing suddenly as the alcoholic smell reached her nose again, this time much closer, and she realized it was coming from a table next to hers, where a young man and a woman with an eye patch were sitting. Yami realized it was the woman who was drunk. She looked like she was about to fall out of her chair. Yami did a double take as she took in the man. He looked like a man, yet something about him was...off. She just shrugged and yanked her knife out of the table and began playing with it again. She was bored and she needed something to do. She nearly burned herself as she grabbed the knife, and she realized she had used a bit too much fire. When the waiter brought out her water, she carefully bent the water to the blade, cooling the handle. | |

| ''and thats why i asked you. i've seen your work.'' she said as someone nearby started to play with a knife. she lowered he voice a bit. ''i could see the bender in the work. only a bender could be that intricate.''a knife buried into a table nearby and a waiter stumbled away. ren turned her head towards the table to see a young woman playing with a knife. ren stood shakily and slowly walked over to her table carefully placing her feel so as not to fall. ''excuse me miss. could you please stop that. i'm having a bit of a bad day and i don't want the waitors to spill food all over me.'' she asked as kindly as she could. | |

| Trace nodded as she took in Ren's words. She knew what Ren meant. Every once and a while, someone would bring in a sword that required a new handle, or just needed to be fixed from wear and tear. She could see if it was made by a bender, or forged by fire. The metal just reacted differently. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed the woman do the double take to look at her, and she sighed. Trace knew what was going through her head. Is it a boy, or girl. Looks like a boy. Trace shook her head just a bit before the knife struck the table. The knife was forged, like the rest of the silverware on the tables, in fire by a repeated mold. She could see the bridges where the metal was shaved down to hide the mold lines. She tried to ignore the woman playing with the knife. Then, Ren stood up. Trace sighed as she followed Ren with her eyes, watching from her seat as she went to talk to the woman. Well, so much for trying to sober her up. Trace thought as she noticed Ren's wobbly walk. Everyone in the restaurant can tell she's drunk. | |
