Brief History: He grew up alone in the northern water tribe. His father was raising him until he died in a battle against fire nation. That happened when he was 7 and since the he had no friends and he lived on the street.
When he was 10 he started to learn waterbending from an old man that he meet on the street. Year after when he almost master waterbending a couple of air nomads came to visit them and that’s how he meet his first friend; Kaan. They become best friend and then Kaan needed to leave.
