The Boys and The Girls

Hayato walked into the control room and saw Hideki running back an forth between instruments trying to keep the ship together "Hey Hayato a little help here please...take care of those valves over there and then go put some coal into the furnace we're running low" he said. Hayato was surprised to see Hideki so hard at work "Okay sure" he said. Hideki ran back to the wheel and smiled "I saw what you did out there" he said "Nice going." Hayato smiled "What can I say I like her...you're one to talk, you're in love with Hisaki" he said. Hideki sighed "So what?" he said, there was a pause "I took a look at the list...these warriors wont be so hard to find...we've met most of them before...alot of them are royals from the different nations." Hayato smiled "So that means we'll find them fast?" he asked hopefully, if they found them fast he could take Kaon to the fair. Hideki nodded "Yup, I say a week or two tops" he told him. Hayato smiled and was filled with a new hope, runing down to the furnace to put more coal in the furnace.

Hisaki quietly made her away down to the control room, silently wondering where everyone was. She knew Kiharu was probably somewhere studying for school or writing her usual letter back home. Kaon was out on deck; she said she'd attempt to meditate that afternoon. Sasavi and Kaji were together. She didn't know what they were up to.

She felt the need for some company.

Approaching the door, she took a deep breath, light blush coloring her cheeks. She always felt shyer around boys, especially Hideki.

Finally gaining courage, she pushed open the door, surprisingly silent and came inside. "Um... hello," she greeted softly, staring at the floor.

Hideki turned around and smiled "Hey Hisaki" he said friendly "How's the ride so far?"

"It's nice," she admitted quietly. "Um, how are you doing? Do you need any help at all?"

Hideki thought for a second "Well I could use someone to help me around the bridge" he said "You could help me if you want...I always love the company, and what better company then you?"

Hisaki blushed. "Well, I'm not as talkative as Kaon or as smart as Kiharu, but I'll do as much as I can," she promised.

Hideki sighed "I hate when girls always put themselves down..." he said, he turned to Hisaki and put his hand on her shoulder "You're plenty smart...you're smart enough to not to get drunk all the time like Kaon and you're smart enough to keep her calm...and you talk, but when you feel like it, that's not a sin" he said "And as for beauty you have nothing to complain about there"

Hisaki smiled. "You're really kind, Hideki. That made me feel a lot better." She fell into pace beside him as they made their way to the bridge, traversing the quiet halls of the ship. "So, what do you need me to to help you with on the bridge?"

"Well I'd like you to watch the instruments and keep an eye on our course for me" he said "Do you think you could do that?"

Hisaki glanced around. "That'll be easy," she said, already fixing her eyes on a certain peice of equipment. "Looks like the engine is running well, and the pressure inside the ship isn't too high. We're set for smooth sailing." Approaching a smooth pane of glass, she stared out over the ocean. "We're heading in the right direction. Look, that sunset is right over there. I'll keep this up until you finish what you need to do."
