3rd Tenkaichi Bending-kai | Preliminary Round | Match 6 – [#19] Bailey vs. [#2] Raijin

“Hello folks, and welcome to the second annual Tenkaichi Bending-Kai Tournament's First Preliminary Match!” The announcer said into his microphone, the noise blasting over the roaring crowd. The battle would take place in a circular Ba Sing Se arena, which had pools of water around the edges, as well as a pit of magma in the middle, surrounded by a pool of water. While there would normally be more tricks and traps set up, they were disabled for the preliminaries.

“Today, we'll be witnessing the fierce battle between Bailey Jane Kenta and Raijin Ezofuji-no-Tsukuyomi. The gates will open on my mark. With the combatants set, and the battlefield ready for them, let's give them a warm welcome!”

First seed match, Bailey vs. Kouzai. Bailey will have the honour of the first strike.

Bailey turned to her children, Shuramine and Amaya, and kissed them before shooing them to the audience and starting to make her walk to the center. Her first fight as a tournament, and if it wasn't for Amaya insisting that her mother show them her skills, she might not have considered it. With a bow, she looked over the opponent. Raijin stood strong across from her, and she could tell by how he moved and walked that he was a fire bender.

Bailey smiled and waited until the Lay-on was called before striking toward the man's feet, running to his left as she moved toward the magma in the middle of the arena.

Raijin let out a heavy sigh as he left the gate. The girl tried to step on his feet. He had to struggle to hold back a laugh. Maybe she thought this was a race, and maybe to her it was, but to Raijin this was a fight. It was one he was going to win too, if he had anything to say about it. Raijin allowed Bailey the chance to run towards the middle of the arena. It would really matter anyway.

Once she had reached the center, Raijin smiled, gave her a sarcastic wave and a fake wide smile. He shifted his stance, stomped his foot, and a trail of emerald green flames erupted from around him, made a trail towards Bailey, and surrounded her. Raijin then shot a nice, big bolt of lightning right at her chest. If she could jump the emerald flames and dodge the lightning, then Raijin would be impressed.

Bailey stumbled as the fire grew around her, knocking herself to the ground where her long red shirt now lit with flames that lapped at her stomach. The stumble, however, was just enough to make her raise her left hand in defense to the lightening. It struck her wristband, wrapped around her arm, and stopped just before her elbow, numbing her left hand from the current. Well, that's new. Bailey thought as she moved to get back onto her feet.

So, I'm a bit rusty, kinda figured I would be after 4 years of child-bearing... She thought as she gathered her mindset. Lightening was something she hadn't fought against in a long time, it might take a moment to gear back up against it. Bailey looked down the arena to Raijin and smiled. "This is going to be fun." She called out before blasting him with 15 fire balls.

Raijin dodged the fire balls with ease. He even deflected a few of them into the sky, making them explode into red and green cinders like some kind of magical fireworks. It was pretty, and it got the crowd going. It also distracted Bailey long enough for Raijin to get in nice and close. He started off simple. He set his limbs on fire and started some CQC. Kick. Punch. Kick. Block. Kick. Block. Block. Punch. It went on like this for a while, just back and forth attacks. It's a good thing this Bailey woman was a Fire Bender too, otherwise the hot and fiery (literally) CQC would have hurt more than Raijin's next planned attack.

Raijin decided to step things up at about the fifteenth block. He pulled back, and instead of flaming limbs, shot his body full of lightning. Raijin had developed this technique in isolation in an Earth Kingdom desert. No homes around to destory, no people to harm or scare. Just him, the open landscape and a fuck-tonne (that is to say, one metric fuck-tonne) of lightning. Raijin's body coursed with lightning and crackled around him. It popped and sizzled and made his hair stand out a bit. He looked like a big red and black peacock, it was actually kind funny.

Raijin called this his Flying Thunder God Technique; Hiraishin. He was the only one in his family able to use it, and it took a lot of training and a lot of injuries to his body and organs. The electricity had caused him to have a heart attack or few. Stopped his heart once for a good long while. Thank god for Mai...no, no now was not the time. Raijin charged right at his opponent, his fist pulled back ready to punch. He was gonna hit Bailey in the gut, and he was gonna hit her full speed with all the lightning he had.
