Making a family

Kalini smiled rubbing her back. "This Anika my daughter. I just adopted her today. Anika this is one of my coworkers."

anika looked up at the woman and smiled shyly.

"Hello," she said softly. after thier orders were placed anika turned to kalini. "ive never been this far into the lower ring," she was a little afraid but was trying to be brave. "i always stayed close to the middle ring."

Kalini sighed a little rubbing her back. "I promise I will get us into the middle ring. I will pull extra shifts in and get another job."

anika dropped her head a bit and wrinkled her brow. she knew kalini would do anything to keep her promise. may she could help. She smiled.

"Ok mommy," she said, "i'll help as much as i can."

Kalini smiled looking over at her kissing her head. "You just be a kid. Have fun make friends don't worry about money."

"i dont need to," anika said cheerfully. "i get an allowance from my parents money."

she started thinking about what she could do to make their lives better.

"i get the money to get things i need and want. we can ask for more from the man who watches my parents stuff."

Kalini shook her head rubbing her back. "I will use that money on you for clothes and school supplies. Maybe get you some books for your birthday."

Anika smiled at the thought of a new instrument. she was looking forward to her new life and couldnt wait to see where it went.

Kalini smiled pulling out her pouch nearly emptying it to pay for dinner, but she didn't care she wanted the best for her little girl.

Anika watched as kalini emptied her money bag, feeling upset that she had cost so much. she put on a happy face for her new mom however. she ate her food in silent contemplation, thinking about her life. despite her parents death she had a good life. she was determined to give her new mom a happy life with her
