The Bloody Rose's First Handler [Private, Flashback]

A young Itami Kurushii, still inexperienced, and new to his job as the Fire Nation's Minister of Defense, sat in a tea shop in Ba Sing Se's middle ring, waiting for word from his 10 subordinates. Several days previous, he had sent a letter to one Takeda Golude, requesting his services as a Handler, and a Trainer.

There was still a solemn feeling in his heart- the Assassin order that had once sheltered him had been disbanded. Many of the assassins had become petty mercenaries, joined their home nation's military, or simply settled in on a less-traveled road, as bandits. Though, regardless of where they went, each one of them shared the same mentality- there was no going back. One could not simply put down their sword, to live again as the common people. Not with the things they had all seen- with all the things they had LEARNED. No one fought like a true Assassin of the Order, and the whole world knew it. Even the Kyoshi Warriors' fighting styles paled, in comparison to the resourcefulness of an assassin. Even the ones that had sunk the lowest dared not remove their brands, nor let the simple motto leave their memory.

“Nothing is True. Everything is Permitted.”

It haunted them all, like a nightmare. Before, it had inspired hope and trust, though now, it only brought sadness. Itami had refused to let go, when he was told that the shining legacy of the Assassin Order was coming to an end. Thus, he had begun building an organization to carry on the teachings of the Assassins: The Bloody Rose. A beautiful flower, that had rose from the ashes of its predecessors, only to bloom even brighter.

“Sir! Takeda Golude has been sighted, inside Ba Sing Se!”

The man's words brought Itami back to reality. “Very well, let us go and meet him. I'm eager too get to know him...” Itami said, putting on his monotone face. He made sure to never give his emotions away, to anyone but his closest friends- things were simpler that way. Less sympathizers, crying false tears in order to gain a one-night drinking buddy.

takeda had left home about 2 months ago, after his nephew ran away. he had managed to make it to the capital city before he ran out of money. luckily he met up with a troupe. unluckily the troupe was a mercenary groupe on the side. he became a killer to survive. he would take jobs that would allow him an excape. he couldn't run. not with his leg messed up. then he recieved a letter.

it seemed like easy work. hopefully the killing could stop. he was tired of death. he lost good friends to cruelty.
luckely the troupe had been working their way to ba sing se. they had been 2 days away when he had recieved the letter. the moment they reached the city he took off towards the cental ring. unfortunately he had no idea where to go. he had a day left so he decided to take what little money he had and buy a room for the night. he would search in the morning. after his room was secured he went to a nearby tea house. when he walked in he was a little self-conscious. while he wasn't in rags, the plain outfit of black wool stood out in the finery of the middle ring. he sat down anyway and leaned his worn ash cane against the table. he then ordered jasmine tea and sat back to enjoy himself.
