Personality-He is a kind and humble but understanding man. A pacifist who wishes to avoid any physical confrontations and try to find a more peaceful way to resolve problems. But will resort to violence if his friends or any innocent people are in danger from people who want to kill them. He also has a soft spot towards children and people who are ill. Because of his ability to memorize anything he sees or reads he has an IQ of 150.

Brief History-Monk Yonten was born in the Southern Air Temple to two Airbending Monks. we was raised by the Monks to follow the teachings of the Air Nomads. When he was 12 he attempted to glide during a massive thunder storm while visiting the village of Jang Hui but the wind was too strong and slammed him into a cliff and fell into the river.He almost drowned but was saved by the painted lady. His near death experience and encounter with her made him a Spiritbender. After his encounter with the painted lady went to see if there was any spirits at Tengu Island but found a little firebender boy with his hands and forearms covered in burns. So he immediately took him to a medical center where they became friends and trained together to learn how to fight off against benders whose style was different from theirs. At age of 18 he mastered Airbending and was given his Airbending tattoos given to masters of air. At age 26 he mastered Spiritbending. Now he is currently with his friend Yasahiro who is taking a break from his duties as Minister of Colonial Affairs in the Northern Water Tribe while Yonten is seeking permission to commune with the spirits that reside in the Spirit Oasis.
