Heart Beat

"I'm not hungry no," said Owlan happily, "In which case, allow me to pay and we shall be off, alright?" Owlan pulled out a small bag of coins and placed them on the table. He then stood up and hepled Kat stand, "Lead the way, milady," he said, "You know the way to your place better than me." Owlan and Kat walked out towards the street, and as they did, Owlan took her hand in his, again, no regretting it. And not wondering what made him do it, he simply went with the flow, hoping she wouldn't mind too much.

The grinned and nodded as he paid for thier time here, and she waved farewell to the jittery server, who bowed in return. Kat smiled at his gesture and placed her hand in his. In comparison, her hand was paler and almost twice as small as his hand. His was warm and inviting, and she liked it.

"Actually, its not my place, im only renting a room here untill i go back to the capitol. I was only here on Holiday. " She smiled again and looked up at Owlan with her big blue eyes. He looked very handsome and elegant in the moonlight.

They walked a little further, and in through the doors to the Inn. It was quiet, yet they werent even out that late. She led him up the stairs and she peeked around the corner. She didnt see that chatty servant anywhere. She was hoping for this, because in the morning that women would give her so much smack about tonight. Kat smiled and walked over to her room and opened it.

" Well, its not too much, but its the best room they had. " She said graciously as she walked over and opened up the balcony windows. it didnt go out to far, but big enough for her to sit a chair out and read on a nice day. Kat inhaled the air and turned back towards owlan.

Owlan smiled, "This is a very nice place," he said as he saw the room, "I love the simplicity of it." Hearing that Kat needed to return to the Capitol, Owlan jumped on the opportunity. "Do you want to return to the Capitol with me?" he asked, "I have enough room on the boat--it is a large boat--and I would be honoured to give you a ride after all you've done for me." Owlan sat down in the arm chair and looked up at Kat, hoping she would say yes. He wanted nothing more than to spend more time with her, but seeing how things were going already, Owlan was sure she would say yes. "So, what do you say?" he asked slowly.

Kat's face seemed to glow, " I would enjoy that very much!" She smiled and then she gasped, " Oh my god, that means we are leaving tommorow... " Kat scurried around the room, " That means i have to pack and-, " She pulled all her dresses from her closet and placed them on another chair next to her bed. Then quickly ran over to her table and pulled up her books and fragrances and placed them in her bottomless bag.

" How am i ever going to say goodbye to everyone i met!" kat squeaked a little and pulled her shoes out from in the closet and placed those in the bag as well. Then she flopped down on the bed, slightly winded.

Kat looked at him and giggled, " But really, Thank you for inviting me to travel with you back to the Mainland. " She hoisted herself up on her elbows, which were propped on the pillows, and she smiled.

She bit her bottom lip, " Well, if you dont prefer the chair, you can sleep on the floor, i guess... " She grinned a little, " Or you can join me up here, there is plenty of room. "

"I-..." Owlan froze for a second, not sure which to answer, fearing the wrong answer would ruin this moment, "I would prefer the bed...if that's alright with you?" Owlan stood up and removed his red sash. His robe fell open, and he slid it off, so that he now stood there in brown leggings and his socks--he had already removed his boots. Owlan lay down in the bed next to Katsumi, shirtless, and wrapped a small portion of the blanket around himself, "I don't want to take it all," he explained shyly, "This is your bed after all, I don't want to intrude more than I already am..I hope you don't mind if I'm shirtless."

She smiled at how timid he was at first, it was rather quite adorable. But after a moment he removed a little of his clothing and crawled in next to her. " I dont mind if your shirtless. " She blushed a little and actually got out of the bed. She slipped her flats of and slid thm underneath her table, then un buttoned her dress. She pulled it off, and walked back up to the bed in a short white silk slip.

Then she turned her head, and blew out the candles she had lit earlier. Only the light from the moon lit up the dark and she pulled back the balnket and crawled in next to him. She breathed deeply and then softly laid her head on his chest. " Is this okay? " she asked simply, then looking up at him. Even in the dark her eyes still sparkled in what light there was.

Owlan smiled and wrapped his arm around her as she slipped under the cover, "No," he said with a smile, "No that's perfect actually. As long as you don't mind me putting my arms around you?" Owlan smiled again, this was definitely not the alcohol, in fact, he was willing to admit it, this was love. 'No wonder things are going so smoothly...' he thought to himself 'It's mutual...has to be. Any other girl would've slapped me by now. I know Naina would've...at least, she'd be out with another guy though...not me....that'd be--why am I thinking like this now? Calm down Owlan, just calm down...everything will be okay...' Without warning, Owlan blurted out, "I love you..." almost instantly wishing he hadn't said it. What would she think now?

Kat smiled and nuzzled up to his chest and he placed his arm around her. Her cheeks flooded with so much color she thought they would be more red than a ripe tomato. She was warm in his arms, yet she had a slight shiver. Was it cuase she was nervous, or anxious? She just grinned away, and exhaled. This felt so natural, her heart was racing, and her palms sweating, her face heating up. sHe didnt care, she was enjoying all this time she had with him.

Suddenly, he wispeared, and her eyes grew wide. Kat leaned up and looked at him, She couldnt really say anything, had nothing to say. Her heart started to pound even louder, and she moved her behind her ear, with a few peices hanging over still.

" I-.... Really?" Is as she asked, its all she really could. Kat could tell that he regretted saying it, but she actually, accepted it, if it was really true that is. The corners of Kats lips curled up into a small smile and her eyes grew welcoming as she started at Owlan.

"Yes, really," said Owlan, "And I'm happy to admit it...though a little worried about what you think...though I think, if I'm correct, you...feel...the same?" Owlan's cheek flushed full red, and he couldn't keep eye contact with Kat. He was embarrassed, and in love at the same time. And he knew, this was the real thing. Suddenly, as if something caught hold of his mind, he leaned over and kissed Kat, soft, yet still passionate. And as he slowly pulled back he smiled at her, and pressed his forehead against hers, and smiled deep into her eyes.

She tilted her head to the side and bit the bottom of her lip. She did feel something, but was it love? She had never felt anything like this before, she had never felt anything for a boy. Usually they would just howl and whistle at her. It was degrading, but Owlan, he appreciated her for who she was as well.

A smile grew on her face as she made up her mind, “ I Love You Too.” She said, her heart was pounding so fast, and she was so happy. She knew it was love, she could feel it. Nothing came across her mind that said otherwise.

Suddenly her lips were engulfed with his, and her eyes fluttered shut. Kat slightly started to sink, but Owlan broke the sweet kiss. She smiled as he gently pressed his forehead to hers and stared into her eyes.

She softly ran her finger tips down his cheek, and quietly whispered, “ I Really Do. “
