The tan, sand covered, walls of Dara's Library gleamed beneath the scorching sun that bombarded all who walked beneath it with seemingly endless rays of heat. Sand shifted back and forth in the wind; its desert going on forever to the human eye, it's bravado of pools sitting in the distance drove some people mad. Many chased after these mirages until they collapsed in the sand and there bodies were never seen of again. This is why Nanuq thanked his parents and origins for the gift of water bending as he approached the library which stood looming in front of him.
People in the town below were used to the heat and ignored it as though it were a natural occurrence as they went about their daily chores and activities. Some, many, found themselves making several visits to the library as a form of entertainment besides aggravating the grumpy old merchant who sold apples at his raggedy stand near the entrance of the village. "I wanna check out the Fire Nation records!" Exclaimed a small boy who traveled with his friends as they dashed through the front door of the library and immediately took a left turn and out of site. The aroma of fresh books and undisturbed peace struck Nanuq like a wall of bricks and nearly caused him to pass out upon arrival.
He had never seen anything like it; seemingly endless rows and rows of books all on one specific nation. Other levels held the others and some specific sections paid homage to special events like the Avatar cycle and the fall of Ozai. Nanuq's eyes gleamed over the books, his mind set on one specific section on this vast library. The Air Temple section; it was always a place he wished to visit and soon that wish was to come true, so he might as well brush up on some history while he was there and maybe pick up a few maps. Excitement rushed through Nanuq as he proceeded into the library, his smile shinning from ear to ear and anticipation shown prominently in his bodily language.
