The gift that keep on giving..(Open)

Nova Fuyu Qiao


A steady pitter patter of heavy rain drops beat down on the roofs of houses,shops, and well anything with a roof. The sound was like a calming song to the ears of Nova and the sight of it was like a never ending masterpeice that just kept coming from the grey skies above. It was one of her favorite things, the rain. And it was not because she was a waterbender it was because it had a calming effect that relaxed her. A cup of hot jasmin tea filled her nose with it's aromatic scent. Since the rain had started she had found herself snuggled into a little tea shop that was very quiet with the exception of humble whispers from the other customers. She herself had a wonderful veiw near a wide window and infront of her a cup of Jasmin tea and a small mooncake. She had been in Ba Sing Se for about two months now and was getting settled into the enviorment. Most of the people she had gotten to know were kind and welcoming towards her, even showing her around the place. Nova in return would help in anyway she possibly could, offically earning herself a place in the lower ring. The fact that she was not going to stay in the lower ring for too much longer made it clear that she was not done with the world. She was glad though that she always had a place to come back too.

Nova was dressed in her usual attire which was made for comfort and to her style. A long sleeved, white button down blouse hugged her upper area. The blouse was light and easy to move in, never making her feel too hot or stuffy. Below on her waist a deep purple skirt that came a little over her knees kept her legs covered. The skirt was thicker in texture that the blouse but easy to move in like the blouse. On her feet a pair of white socks and knee high black boots protected her feet from the floor. The boots laced up were a new pair, her older brown pair of boots needed to be replaced because they were utterly destroyed from years of wear.

Alone she sat but comfortable none the less. She didn't really expect anything out of the ordinary to happen and so her guard was let down. The weather and the little snack she had really had Nova relaxed and thinking more so than usual. But the people she was thinking of were not the ones she wanted to be thinking of at all. Her face went from calm to worried as a sigh slipped past her lips and her fingers went up to her clear frames adjusting the slightly. The tea had warmed by this time and she was sipping more frequently but slowly nibbiling at the Mooncake. She began to feel a spark of longing...A longing to return home.

Hiro Kyoto


"Wow this weather." said Hiro catching the girl off her guard. Hiro was working at his brothers' tea shop while Nara was away. "It kind of makes me miss my parents." Hiro said with a smile hoping he wasn't being too awkward. He took a seat across from the girl as she sipped the tea.

Hiro was wearing a green shirt with white lines along his shoulders. He was also wearing matching pants and sandals. Though Hiro hated being the kind to socialize, he needed someone to talk to or else he would go insane.

"Wow this weather"

The words of a male's voice caught her off guard as she quickly turned her head from the window to meet the face of a young male. A light and welcoming smile found it's place upon her lips as she gently set down the cup of tea. She always welcomed company and this male was no different.

"Oh? Why is that?"

Her voice was soft yet clear and had an inviting tone to it. She wondered for a moment about the age of the male and figured he must be young given his features. Adjusting her glasses slightly Nova made a gesture as if she had forgotten something.

" I am truly sorry I can be so rude sometimes. My name is Nova. Before answering my previous question I think it's only right to have your name. Or at least a name you want to be called by. "

Picking up her cup once more she took a sip and waited for the male to respond.

Hiro Kyoto


Hiro smiled with a chuckle "I guess your right. My name is Hiro." His voice was smooth like out of a fiction. "Nice to meet you." he said blinking. Hiro grabbed some extra tea and started sipping it. "All I can remeber of my parents is that they used to love the rain." He said answering the question inbetween sips. Hiro chucked and said "I remember a bit, but not alot."

He turned away and frowned a bit. After frowning he looked back with a face full of wonder. "My turn to ask you something. What brings you here?"

So Hiro was this male's name. It was a very nice name and it rolled off the tounge smoothly. She was hoping that her question was digging to deep in his personal life, she could have easily taken another route besides asking such a question about his parents. She thought this over but soon was given a question herself. Her clear blue eyes blinked behind her clear frames as she pushed a strand of chestnut brown hair from her face. tucking it gently behind her ear. It was sad to hear that such memories were not all there with this boy, but she wa sure new ones would settle into his life.

"What brings you here?"

Now this question posed all types of answers. Could he have meant the tea shop? Or maybe Ba Sing Se? She didn't know where to start but she could only guess he meant the shop. Sipping the last bit of her tea she smiled setting down the cup. The pitter patter of rain turned into a light drizzle and the sun itself began to peek out from the grey clouds giving the world below a fresh look. The puddles on the ground began to glint with the gleam of the sun rays that peeked in and out of the passing clouds and a light yet warm breeze pushed past the streets kissing and caressing all it came in contact with. Nova's eyes moved from the boy to the window to take in the sight before her for only a second before looking back at him.

" To enjoy a beautiful day. I was never expecting to meet anyone. Usually I'm moving about here and there traviling and such. I don't ever get the time to just relax. It's really a rare thing for me. "
