Day and Night (Open to all)

Yofuey couldn't help blushing a little bit as the kind girl grabbed his hand and led him away.
"You're too kind." he said as he followed her. "Where are we going?" he asked.

"My place," Han replied leading him through an alley way. Just before she reached the end, Han stopped, holding the boy back as well as two Dai Lee walked past, talking amongst themselves. Once they were gone, Han hurried him down the street to a small two room house, if it could be called that, and opened the door, "Here we are...make yourself at home." Inside was a small table with two chairs, a sink on the east wall next to a set of two cupboards and a small stove with two burners. In the other room was a restroom with a cracked mirror. In the main room, tucked behind the table were two bedrolls, one was hers and one was a guest roll, both could be set up in the middle of the main room, "Like I said...it's not much. But it's home.

Yofuey was lost in thought as the girl pulled him inter her home, awash with memories. Berfore he got to the unpleasant ones he pulled away from them. "Cozy." he said with a smile." He closed the door after him, shutting the blinds and windows after checking for any followers. He then sat down in one of the chairs with a tired thunp, taking his sword from off his back and setting it in a corner. He laid his two chainwhips on th table and pulled out a map of Ba Sing Se from his vest and spread it out over the tabletop, taking a deep breath and drawing a hand through his hair. "I need to ask you something."

As the guy made himself at him, Han immediately went to get him some water. When she turned, Han was a bit surprised to see him pulling out weapons and a map, "You almost look like you're getting ready for a war." She didn't realize it, but when Han set the glass in front of him the burn scar that covered her entire right arm was slightly revealed. It wasn't hard to see he was uneasy, but did her best to keep it semi-normal. When he mentioned having to ask her something, Han realized her sleeve had risen up and quickly pulled it down, "Sure, ask away."

Yofuey saw Han's sleeve raise as she set the glass of water on the table. He reached out toward the glass, fingered the edge for a moment, and then spoke: "Two things: First, what was that scar from? And second, do you have to work tommorrow?"

Han felt her heart stop a moment before regaining her composure, "When I was a kid, living here in the slums, I learned the hard way what happens when you tell someone no. I was out walking and bumped into an old creep. He had just moved here from the Vermillion Empire, and he was into kids..." Before she finished, Han quickly changed the subject, "Tomorrow's my day off. Need some help?"

Yofuey paused, taking this shocking tale in. "My family was murdered by Chi Blockers. For years I was their captive. I was punished severely for any firebending." He pulled the collar of his shirt, exposing the scarred tissue of a previous and vicious whipping. "Anyway, yes, I do need your help. I'm a mercenary. I take only the best causes. Recently, I recieved a cryptic offer. The Hog Monkey food industry's made a few mistakes, to say the least. I need your help getting evidence. Someone who knows the city." Yofuey looked up. "Can you help me?"

As he went on to explain his background, and mentioning the Chi Blockers, Han felt a twinge of sorrow in her throat. True, she was a fire bender, but to see another fire bender treated so harshly broke her heart. The scars just made it worse. She was about to say something when he began talking about his being a mercenary and his current job. "Sure thing. I could show you all the back roads that many people don't travel. When do you want to start?"

"In the morning." He replied, "I've had a long night." He rolled up the map and slipped it into a pocket inside his vest. He took another swig of water and looked up. "I believe you were about to ask or comment on something? I apologize for cutting you off."

"Yeah," Han said grabbing the spare bed roll and laying it out in one of the empty places on the floor, "But it's not important. It was just a personal curiosity that you've already answered it..." After setting his up, Han set her own bed up and smiled, "Bathrooms in the back there if you need it. I hope you sleep ok."
