| |BASICS| Name: Jian Bing, Xi Fang Bai Hu Age: 32 Birthplace: Westernmost region of Earth Kingdom Current Residence: Nomad Rank: Bender Element: Earth Pets: N/A Weapons: N/A
|OPTIONAL| Birthday: April 10 Hobbies: Mild interest in archaeology, thoroughly enjoys winding up younger siblings.
|APPEARANCE| Hair: Hair is a dark brown verging on black; typically styled short, save for a stylised lock that hangs down into his face – however on occasion allowed to grow out; though no longer than mid back – in which case it’s tied back in a loose ponytail. Eyes: Eyes are brown and of a medium almond shape, typically narrowed out of habit. Height: 5’9” Clothes: Despite having denounced ties to the Earth Kingdom, while within National Kingdoms the typical loose fitting attire associated with persons from the Earth Kingdom are worn, after all; what better place to hide a tree than within a forest? While he favours the loose fitting, light, yet durable woven fabrics of his homeland for their versatility in a variety of environments, certain situations crop up when their loose sleeves and airy-design become a hindrance, for that, an altered version of attire is usually worn. The upper half the most noticeably different, with a section of fabric at the joints [shoulder and elbow] cut away for ease of mobility, the remainder of the sleeve extends down, looping over the index finger allowing for its coarse fabric to aid in the grip of held items. Colour scheme remains predominantly green [upper] and black [lower] with a gold trim embellishing the outfit. Skin:His complexion is a pretty even one, though susceptible to tanning after traversing hot terrains for long periods. Skin seems to be in good condition, save for a few deep notches that mar his body. Body Type: He has a lithe form with noticeably well toned musculature. Capable of great physical feats in extremely short burst. His height and build are often looked down upon by others, especially the more robust Earth Benders who pride themselves on their physical attributes. Image:- Spoiler:
|CHARACTERISTICS| Personality: The big brother of the group, loyal, dedicated and outspoken. Baihu, as he’s so affectionately been nicknamed is the shoulder others can cry on, the ear those in camp can confide in – though his loose tongue and often absentmindedness belie these traits. The notion that being the eldest means being the most responsible is lost on him, preferring to leave everyday management of their group to his three ‘siblings.’ While a capable combatant Baihu rarely takes part in meaningless skirmishes, content with strategising from the sidelines. Personal Strengths: + Ability to befriend others + Physical Stamina + Objective analytical planning Personal Weaknesses: - Aloof-nature - Seeming inability to keep secrets - Willingness to give second chances Personal Hero: Parents Dreams and Ambitions An emotional 'welcome home' party from his village when he finally decides to return. Unlikely, but a dreams a dream.
Likes: + Sweet foods + Books + Large bodies of water + Relics +Sunrise
Dislikes: - Being left out of the loop - Heights - Nobility - Savoury dishes - Drunks
Brief History:In the western most region of the Earth Kingdom, Jian Bing, like many, was born from humble beginnings, to a seamstress mother and a miner father struggling to make ends meet. Complications during the last trimester of pregnancy saw Jian birthed a month earlier than expected, and while such things weren’t unheard of, for a first time mother barely into her twenties, with no mother of her own to guide her through, it was a frightful, emotional ordeal.
His early childhood experiences were ones shared by many; boisterous afternoons that left Jian returning home sullied and bruised, clothes torn and dirty much to his mothers chagrin. It was just before Jian’s sixth birthday that his affinity toward Bending emerged, a heated spat with one of the local children saw the two tumbling down an incline, just shy of the quarry where both their fathers mined, and in a fit of directionless anger Jian’s inherited gift exploded. The earth around them fissured, weakening the supporting tunnel structure of the mine. Luckily nobody was seriously injured.
After a lengthy dressing down from both parents, and being grounded for what seemed a lifetime! Jian’s father took up the arduous task of attempting to teach a boy who thought he knew it all.
Come winter if his 13th birthday, Jian made the decision to runaway – disinterested with joining the mining community as many young men he’d grown up with had. Despite his father’s guidance and his mother’s best wishes, the headstrong teen stole off one night, leaving behind his mundane life in search of adventure – much like he’d read young protagonists do in books.
Come seventeen and the rigors of real life were starting to take effect on Jian. His body had slimmed considerably; menial work and substandard meals while on the road the cause. It was however the little things that he missed the most – like his mother’s ability to mend clothing. Things he noted; weren’t playing out how they did in the books he’d read as a child. There were no breaks; hardly any turns of luck, there were, however, a lot of people his age with a grudge against the world.
Sometime between the age of 19 and 26 Jian had befriended three others, where in their travels together he had dropped his birth name Jian, for the moniker Xi Fang Bai Hu, or Baihu. The four were inseparable for the coming years, growing from mere travelling companions into ‘siblings’. Each commanding one of the four cardinal Elements: Quing Long of Air, Xuan Wu of Water, Zhu Que of Fire and Bai Hu of Earth.
Suddenly, life didn’t seem so bad anymore..
