Name: Ryujin
Nickname: Ryu
Age: 216
Species: Humanoid Dragon
Appearance: Ryujin is a silver black color except for on his underbelly where he is a dark golden color. Ryujin is normally on all fours, although he is just as comfortable with standing on his hind legs.
Personality: Ryujin is much like Takashi. He is a strong silent type, but he does have a very bad temper. He is easily angered, and when angry he lashes out very fast. Ryujin is very quick to jump the gun and is very powerful. This has led to many people being killed over the years. Ryujin loves violence and fighting, but most of all, he loves Takashi.
Background: When Takashi was only eleven years old, he began hunting. He slowly began wandering further and further from the city. Recently, the merchants which kept him well fed, decided that it was time that he moved on, and stopped giving him food. Takashi felt betrayed. He wanted to burn down the entire marketplace, but he wasn't nearly strong enough to do anything. That all changed when he found the island.
It was a magical place. There were huge scaled creatures with large wings and long tails. Surely they would help him become strong enough to wipe out those treacherous merchants, but every time that he sought out help, the wise dragons merely laughed, and said that the merchants have given him the power to do so. It would be several years before he understood that they meant that by no longer giving Takashi food, they inspired him to adapt, which would save him many times over.
Just as Takashi was begining to leave, two of the resident dragons began fighting. Ryujin had yet again picked a fight that he could not finish. The much older and stronger dragon was making quick work of Ryu. Takashi felt helpless watching the older dragon force Ryu to the ground. The older dragon clasped his fangs around Ryu, sucking the life out of him. The older dragon watched with extreme pleasure as the thorn in his side was slowly dying in extreme pain instead of a fast death. Wait, that was it! He was watching the younger dragon. Takashi ran as fast as he could to reach the two dragons, and just as he did, he shot a stream of fire directly into the older dragon's open eye. The older dragon fell back, disoriented Ryu used these few seconds to get up and pierce the elder dragon's throat. The dragon fell to the ground, dead.
"What is your name boy?" asked Ryujin as his eyes met Takashi's
"Takashi," said the frightened young boy.
"Takashi, huh? I owe you my life, which I will live in servetude to you."
