Just A Moment of Peace Please! ( Henate )

Kayuki felt her smile grow larger as he complimented her. A lovely lady, how nice. Truth was, people weren't mean to her, they just avoided her, alot of the times, she brought trouble, and for people that have seen this, they disperse like roaches when the light comes on.

Kayuki sighed, " I assure you, i am not of nobility, my past is not a happy one, i lived a life of poverty. I just care about my appearance, and recently have come into money myself. " She said, bringing the cup once more to take a sip.

" Yes i am a traveler, and i am a fire bender. I also just have other unique qualities that don't make me very delightful. " She looked at him, " I can see you are a fire bender as well, are you a war veteran?" She asked in curiosity, most older men that could bend were in the war as youngsters.

She was a weapons specialist, and could be useful in a fight, yet she refused to join any army.

Taru glances up towards her giving her a smile and replying to her question. "Not a war veteran, but a retired lieutenant. I decided to quit at a fairly young age, due to.." he pauses "various reasons"
The smile still remained on his face.

"I'm sad to hear that you had a troublesome past. Most youngsters seem to have a difficult life these days. A shame really." He continued on, the smile having faded away from his mouth.
"Now, tell me, what made it so obvious that I am a fire bender?" He said, letting out a slight chuckle as he posed the question.

Kayuki smiled, held the cup to her lips and giggled, " Well Teru, i am able to tell something about people, just from looking at them, listening to them talk, seeing how they handle situations, and their body language. Your's all say Fire bender..." she smiled, took a sip, and poured herself some more tea. Her eyes still on the old man. Once done she giggled and closed her eyes however.

" That... and i saw you fire bend your tea to make it warm again. " She giggled again, " Quite obvious when one minute your tea doesn't send off any steam, then the next second it looks like a sauna."

She tilted her head to the side and leaned forward a little, " You probably guess that i was, due to the fact of all your expirence correct?"

She sat back again and giggled, " I'm quite capable too, i taught myself everything i know, i couldn't really afford a master, and no one but my mom was a fire bender."

He smiles towards her simply saying "Your hands. They gave you away." he glances up from the tea in his cup, with a small grin on his face. "I tend to assess people I suspect hold their cards tight to their chest. Sub-consious reaction, really.. You said you had learned everything on your own. Does that include fire bending aswell?" He simply asked, raising the cup of tea up to his mouth, taking a sip.

His glance travelled across the room briefly, before his attention returns back to her, waiting for her response.

Kayuki nodded and smiled, she was quite proud of how she was able to do it, "I studied people training in the force and in the army, copied their techniques, and learned everything else on my own. Took a couple of years of practice, the only thing i cant't seem to get down is lightning bending, i don't know what i'm doing wrong..."

Kayuki seemed to have frustration written over her face, " I can produce lightning, but it isn't anywhere as powerful as i need it to be. Come out in little spurts i should say." Kayuki looked down at her hands, how did they differ from anybody else's? They weren't burned, perhaps rough, but seemed normal to her.

Kayuki looked up at the older gentle man who seemed to be elsewhere for the moment.

Teru let out a small sigh. " Lightning us dangerous. If you're not in control of your emotions, life and state of mind, it will blow up in your face. One should not experiment with that on your own. Neither did I. One could end up dead. " he simply stated, his glance drifting away again, before it quickly returns back to her. "Care for some strawberry pie?" He asked her, revealing what had caught his attention.

Kayuki hung her head low as he spoke. Control... of her emotions, and state of mind. She felt as a rock sunk into the back of her throat, if that was true, she would never master lightning. But that didnt matter. Kayuki was strong enough without it. But however, it could come in handy someday. She looked up to see a delicious mountain of whip cream and ice cream on a piece of strawberry pie.

" Oh boy would i!" Kayuki's face lit up like never before. She just now remembered that she really never did finish her meal from before. and this just sounded too tasty to give up.

Kayuki pulled her composure together and asked simply, " So you are able to bend lightning?'

He nods quickly, making an "mhm" sound as he raises his hand to signal for the waitor to come.o er to their table."two pieces of strawberry pie, please" he said, placing his order, before turning his attention towards her again.
He finishes the rest off the tea, before he asks "You're not going to ask me if I could teach you, right? We both know old men are the worst teachers"

Kayuki watched in eagerness as the waiter approached and Teru set the order. Then she shook her head side to side at his question. " No i will not ask of you to teach me, it was mere curiosity. From what you said, i do not have the... requirements i should say, to bend lightning, i lack thereof. "

Kayuki finished sipping on her tea and slid the cup forward. She then smiled as their dessert was placed on the table. " I appreciate all of this, I feel a great connection with you." She said sweetly, smiling as she dug her spoon into the crusted treat.

She enjoyed the taste, yet in the back of her mind dwelled and evil that was going to rise. Kayuki felt a sudden migraine, but she was use to this and she put on her fake smile like she always would do.

Teru lights uas the dessert is placed down before him, his hand moving towards the spoon, gripping onto it and digging it into the strawberry pie, whilst he mumbles out a couple of sentences, far too occupied with the piece of pie to speak clearly.

"As long as you're alive you're able to work on your inner self to accomplish anything, creating small sparks is better than having it blow up in your face anyways. It just might take a while, that's all. But, I guess patience is overrated these days, seeing as most youngsters want what they want right now, without having to work for it." He pauses, consuming the small piece of pie that he had carefully broken free.

"Nothing is impossible if you want it enough.. My god this pie is delicious.."
