Element: Sand, but can also bend earth and metal if needed.
Pets: None. Even since his dog, Suzu, was killed when the magicians attacked.
Weapons: Keeps a pouch filled with sand in case he needs to bend.
|APPEARANCE|
Hair: Even though his appearance has changed his hair is something that has not changed at all. His hair is long, black, and unkempt. It is very messy and Hiaro does nothing to keep it clean or cut.
Eyes: His eyes are light brown and are more rounded like most people’s eyes. (Ignore the green in the picture)
Height: 5’9
Clothes: His style has changed over the years and now he wears more traditional Sand Tribe clothing. Light but long are his clothes and he prefers to walk around barefoot. He has removed the wrappings from his feet, hands, and head and decided to put them around his arms and legs because he noticed when they were on his hands and feet they got in the way of his bending. He still wears his mother’s necklace around his neck.
Skin: His skin is tanned due to the fact that he is always out in the sun. He has no scars or any other blemishes.
Body Type: Over the years Hiaro grew in size and strength. Someone who used to be small and thin for a majority of his life finally sprouted and grew up. He is now tall and able to stand up for himself because he is no longer a lowly little street urchin anymore.

|CHARACTERISTICS|
Personality: Over the years his personality has changed a bit. A younger version of Hiaro was more selfish and who only thought for himself, but that was before the magicians attacked many years ago. When they attacked Hiaro over went a personality change. He prefers to help others instead of helping himself and is willing to do anything for those in need. Hiaro still has a bit of his younger bright eyed self in him and at times he is ready to take on any challenge and thinks that he can take on the world. Even at the age of twenty-seven he still thinks like this.
Personal Strengths: Ability to adapt and survive, can hide when needed, fast runner, quick hands and is good with animals
Personal Weaknesses: Is awful at social interactions, has poor manners and hygiene, can be hot headed, wants to be a free spirit instead of being forced to do things he does not like, and hides certain emotions to get by in life.
Personal Hero: His father.
Dreams and Ambitions: To survive.
Likes: Sand, animals, thievery, the desert, his tribe, and Suzu his dog
Dislikes: Bandits, going into towns, large cities, and guards
Brief History: Hiaro was born in the Wan Shi Desert in one of the many Sandbender Tribes. They were a nomadic group so moving around was his life, but they always stuck to areas they knew could offer them protection and food. Hiaro grew up learning how to bend sand for survival in search of food and even to protect himself. At a young age he grew up being taught how to work the sand gliders and since he was able to master it he was given that task when the tribe moved. At the age of ten Hiaro’s life took a turn for the worse.
A group of bandits traveling the deserts in search of tribes or lost travelers they would kill all who defended and then sell the others as slaves. Hiaro’s tribe was attacked early in the morning; it was a shock to everyone as the bandits showed up with weapons and many different bending techniques. Hiaro’s father ended up being killed and so did his mother because she attempted to protect her children by attacking the bandit leader. From there the tribe took the survivors and went their separate ways selling everyone into slavery. Hiaro was quickly sold to a merchant and from there he was forced to pack boxes with other slaves.
Hiaro ended up running away from the merchant and spent some time in the Lower Ring of Ba Sing Se, where he found Suzu, living on the streets and learning that if he wanted something he either got it or died. He was able to join a group of street urchins all around his same age and they just survived by begging and stealing. The group ended up disbanding when a good portion of the boys were sent to an orphanage and Hiaro left the city of Ba Sing Se. For the next two years Hiaro traveled the desert by walking or hitching a ride with a king stranger. Now he wonders around the towns bordering the desert for fear of bandits snatching him up again.
Hiaro was in the Elemental Kingdom Capital when the magicians attacked and if it was not for his skills in bending and the EKRS he would not have made it out alive. Sadly Suzu was killed in the attack, but he was able to make it out alive. From there Hiaro joined the EKRS and wondered throughout the Burned Lands helping survivors and making sure every last magician was taken care of. Later as the years and the war passed the magicians were wiped out and the EKRS was given the task to help restore the Burned Lands. Being an earthbender he was able to help rebuild homes and other buildings for the survivors. Hiaro now lives in the City of Akio and is still a member of the EKRS, but since the magicians are gone and the world is at peace his life is starting to get a little dull.
